Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Disestablishing Paternity

Daughter is 12. Living in Foster care in FLA. Mother has lost parental privledges. I was providing support via my state until she was placed in foster care. I'm currently holding onto back support until Fla asks for it by direction of my state. She is O positive and I am A negative. How do I begin to disestablish my paternity and would my military blood tests on record and her birth certificate be enough to prove she is not mine or do I have to get new blood tests or even DNA testing? Also, how long do I have to reserve the child support funds I've allready put aside?

Re: Disestablishing Paternity

Disestablishing paternity can be a complicated issue. Presumed father statutes may be applicable, and so you may need to meet deadlines to prove that you are not the legal father. I suggest you retain an attorney to ascertain your rights and obligations.
