Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

divorce and relocation

I am seeking a divorce and live in Florida. I want to relocate to Ohio to be near family. Have 15 yr. old daughter who does not want to live or visit with father. Father is intimidating and emotionally abusive. Daughter is scared of father. Police have not yet been involved but I plan on obtaining a restraining order. History of physical abuse in the past toward mother. Daughter has kept a record of abusive events toward her. I have not worked in 18 yrs. and need to find employment and relocate. Will this be a problem??

Re: divorce and relocation

You may not reloctae without following a special, formal procedure and getting the permission of the father or the judge. Relocations are rarely granted, even in cases whether the other parent is abusive, so you should speak with a lawyer right away.
