At my husband's death, am I responsible for his debts made before our marriage?

You are only responsible for debts that are in your name - if both of you have a joint credit card then the debt is on you. If the credit card is in his name, then no. You are not responsible for debts prior to the marriage unless you signed to be on a debt with him.
