Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

modifying child support

my child turned eighteen and I found out through cse that the ex has filed a request to modify the child support due to the fact that the child is still in school. I was told that she may have filed too late, the childs birthday was a few days ago and she just turned in the request about a week before. Is this true? And what do the courts consider when deciding to make the father pay until child graduates?

Re: modifying child support

It's true that Florida child support continues until the child turns 18 or graduates, whichever is later (but never after the child turns 19), but if she got her motion filed before your child turned 18, she beat the deadline.

The courts don't "consider" anything when deciding if the noncustodial parent pays until graduation, it's just the law. There is nothing to consider.
