is a notarized letter considered a legal document

I live in the state of Florida. My wife signed two papers. The first stating that she gives me full custody of our four-year old son.The second letter stating that she does not give me any child support. Both letters were signed by her and myself in the presence of a notary public. Are these papers considered legal documents.
