restraining order

My friend was arrested yesterday in violation of a restraining order but it was a request from her husband to call his ex wife in an emergency situation, she called a third party and left her name and asked the ex wife to please call her childrens father because it was an emergency, the ex wife filed charges against my friend and she was arrested what can she do or what should she do?

Re: restraining order

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

The fact pattern you suggest seems highly unlikely. If it is correct, your friend should go to court and explain the nature of the emergency and why the restraining order "had" to be violated. If it was a legitimate emergency, then I would have to believe that the court would take that into consideration and possibly dismiss the charge.
