No, you cannot be terminated based on medical absence from the workplace. It would have to be a legitimate reason such as poor performance or tardiness or something like that. Of course it might be hard to prove since Arizona is an at-will right-to-work state, meaning that an employee can be let go for any reason or "no reason" and an employee can leave an employer for any reason or "no reason."
