Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Hello, I have a current lawsuit filed against a former employer for 2 issues. It has been in litigation for over a year now. If it is determined that I have another cause of action with this former employer, lets say Whistleblower (Qui Tam), would I be able to bring about this charge with a different attorney who specializes in Whistleblower lawsuits versus the current attorney handling my first 2 issues? The date of the first incident was 2011 so I would think the Statute of Limitations is still good. Thanks for your input.
