Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

landlord/tenant

was living with boyfriend and his parents. we broke up they told me to leave. this was in florida. i moved back to georgia and now want my things furn etc. they are saying i cant have it. these are things i had before meeting him. my name is on the lease but they did not evict me. i did not work while living there i cared for our daughter. they are also saying that i cant have it because i should pay rent for living there and never have. i did not work at all while there, like 4 months. it was never an issue till we broke up. what can i do to get my belongings? the police are no help

file a civil suit or petition in trover to recover items...

You'll have to sue them in Florida for the value of your stuff. Of course, expect them to countersue for rent.
