Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

We had received the following notification from USCIS: "On April 29, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."
When we checked with NVC, there response was the following "We returned immigrant visa petition to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)on 14-APR-2014. If you have more questions about this case, please contact USCIS."
How long would it take for the NVC to get the case back. Also what would be the next steps in the process.
