Can one be fired without being given a reason after 4 years without any complaints from your boss?

Yes, if the employee does not have a written contract for employment that has a set term for the length of the employment. Most employment in Florida is "at-will" employment. This means that both the employer and the employee can terminate the employment for no reason, good reason, and/or bad reason. An employer just cannot terminated an employee if it violates certain employment laws such as discrimination.
