I paid my rent I'm a subtenant the landlord is aware of me being here and the tenant just packed up and left can i just get thrown out?

potentially yes. you should work out a deal in writing with the landlord to secure your position.

Yes. Your deal was with the tenant, not the landlord. he is under no obligation to let you stay. As Mr Stein suggested, you need to work out a deal in writing to allow you to stay.
