Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

How do I get rid of a tenant?

I have a tenant who has refused to pay rent for the past three months. Our lease together has just expired. How do I get my money and get rid of this tenant?

You have to file a dispossessory. You should have filed it the first month. Now they owe three months and probably have no money. Go to the magistrate court and fill out the forms and pay the fee, they will schedule a hearing within a short period of time. You will get a judgement that you can use to try to collect the monies owed. You should have collected a security deposit, they will forfeit that also.
