Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

My roommate and I moved into our apartment a few months ago and didn't meet all the qualifications for it to just be under our name so her dad co signed. I brought my two dogs with me and whenever I leave the apartment I keep them in my room with food and water. My roommate is threatening to call animal service and have them taken from me because I "abandon" them. Legally is there any way my dogs can be taken even though I pay for them to live here and take care of them?

It would appear to me that since HER dad co-signed she is now making the rules. No you are not abandoning the dogs. However, she could call the animal service and state you are then you will have the hassell of retrieving them from the SPCA and hurt feelings with the roommate. I suggest you both work this out or perhaps you should find another place to live.

Ms Becuda is correct. This is not a legal matter you want to resolve in the court system.
