Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I am a tenant living in a home full of mold and the landlord has yet to remedy any of these repairs, always has an excuse, I am now getting sick from this mold issue. I would like to know my rights, am I required to pay monies for rent or break my lease and move out? The landlord should be responsible for my moving expenses and not keep my deposit and last months rent? I am unable to move into another home without these monies for a new deposit, I feel like I am stuck.

1. Have you taken photos of the mold condition?

2. Have you had an expert mold inspection with a written report?

3. Do you have a doctor report connecting sickness to mold?

Unless you have proof you will not be able to terminate, obtain reduction in rent and damages.

Your lease agreement controls your rights. Start by having it reviewed by an attorney. Has a mold remediation company come out and assessed the situation and advised what the costs will be to accomplish the task? You say your are sick, is there a doctor relating the mold to your sickness? You may have a personal injury claim due to the illness if the issues are permanent in nature. Seek legal help with all your documentation.
