Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

I have recently gone to 2 doctors and each time I requested a copy of my last visit report I am charged $1.00 for each page. Even a report from an mri or ct that was sent to the doctor. I like to keep up to date esp with a surgery coming up. I'm on medicare and I've paid for all this. I recall seeing something in ref to copies being made for records of like 25 pages etc on the new patient form I had to sign but didn't pay much attention to it.

My other Dr's office staff have said they can't do that you paid for it.

So my question is can they get away with this or is there something you feel I could say to stop this charge?

Yes they can charge a per page charge for the reports. Why don't you go to the source of the reports and have it emailed to you directly instead of getting your doctor to copy them for you.
