Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

I had a daughter born at the end of october 2012 the baby spent 10 days in the neo nicu . The hospital told us the baby had a pda which is common in premature babys she was born 4 weeks premature. we had a cardiology practice that works at the hospital handleing her care. when we had our sedonc follow up with the same practice they then informed us that the baby had a pfo a second hole in the heart. the hospital never mentioned it at all to us. the practice never mentioned it to us till our second follow up. we then went to a difrent cardiologist for a second oepion and he told informed us it was not a pfo it was an asd. the asd is a defect and is not comon like the first practice t old us the pfo was common. down the road there will be medical expesnes and other things we have to do that will nto be cheap. do we have a case against the hospital for not telling us about the second hole? and do we have a case against the practice for not tellign us then miss diagnosing it??

Unless their failure caused some permanent injury then you likely do not have a claim. You may want to contact a local med mal attorney to discuss your case in more detail.
