Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I am in contract to buy a house in Florida. It will be my primary residence and the only property I own.

I am also in the process of divorcing my husband who lives in Ohio. The divorce was filed in Florida. I do not know my husband's current address and he is not participated in any of the divorce proceeding. I have heard conflicting views on whether my husband needs to sign off on the mortgage and/or the deed.

My concern is for the safety of me and my daughter. we left Ohio because my husband is violent and abusive. I do not want him to have our new address.

I would appreciate if someone could tell me if my husband needs to participate in the closing, to what extent, and what statute covers this issue.
