If I have not finished paying off my mortgage and want to transfer the ownership off my house to my wife's name how do I go about doing that?

Since you have not paid off your mortgage, the property is probably not in your name. You could quitclaim deed it to her, but if you are doing it to avoid debt collectors, it could be invalid as a transfer. More importantly, your mortgage may not allow such a transfer. Read the mortgage carefully or better yet, consult with an attorney.
