Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My Florida home was foreclosed in 2012. I had a second mortgage with Washington Mutual. That had not been paid since 2009. A few days ago I received a ups letter offering a settlement with Chase. Orig loan was $80,000+ , settlement ranged from mis 3k to high 4k. I am retired on SS and am questioning if statute of limitations prevents them from suing me.

That may be a valid defense, depending on the documents you signed.

The statute of limitations is 5 years from the date the last payment was due under the note. You don't provide that information so it is impossible to know if you are have a proper defense. Seek legal help with your actual paperwork.
