Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

If a handyman that uses a company van with a license on it and makes a big mistake on my house, flooded my kitchen responsible? I am going through my home owners insurance but can I go after the company for letting a unqualified contractor work on my home? Maybe the company did not know he was doing this skilled job. I assumed he was licensed in plumping. I should have never assumed.

You could make a claim

Against the negligent contractor. The damages are limited to the repair costs. As stated you cannot collect insurance and against the contractor. Discuss your options with an attorney.
