Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I have been living in the same apartment complex for 9 years, however, in the last year, the upkeep of the property has declined. For the past 8 months there are no lights in the parking areas. The manager when asked says that she can't do anything, yet she had the lights near her unit fixed so she has lights around her unit and her car. In the last 2 months breakins have increased. I no longer feel safe and want to move but my lease is not up until the end of January. If I break the lease I have to pay $1500 which if I move will have to give to the new place as deposits. How can I break this lease seeing that they are not helping the criminal activity by not having lights around. Thank you

You can pay rent into court after complying with FS. 83.60 and ask the court to terminate the lease.
