Can I put a house I'm wanting to sale in a lawyers name to avoid debt collectors?

No, someone else cannot hold property as a placeholder to avoid creditors. That said, an appropriate transfer to an entity for value that is not you personally is acceptable but will not necessarily shield the property from being taken to satisfy your debts. Seek some guidance from an asset collection attorney.
