i am recently seperated and dont have a job. should i file a tax return without a w2? i have 2 children age of 16 and 17.

Depending on your filing status and amount of income, you may be required to

file. If you had taxes withheld from your pay, you should file, regardless of income.

You can get a duplicate W-2 or obtain the information to prepare one for your

return. For example, if you are head of household, under age 65, and earned

at least $12,200 in 2011, you must file. Also, if you are eligible for EIC, you

should file. So, advice is based on your specific situation.
