Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

(Florida) Just received two tickets. Failure to stop at stop sign and expired license plate. Help me..

I'm 20, just graduated uni. I was leaving my school and a guy was coming fast towards me when I was at a stop sign, I tried to get out of his way and pull into the lane, but he was coming really fast and held down his horn and step past me. A cop was nearby and pulled me over. I really think the other cars horn and speed made it look way worse than it was. I got ticketed for that. Can I even fight this?

I also got ticketed for an experienced license plate. It expired last year in may, so 8 months it's been expired. Apparently that's a fucking second degree misdemeanor, Punishable by up to 60 days in jail and 500 dollar fine. I'm scared shitless to have a misdemeanor. If the judge drops the charges, will I still have it on my criminal record? I just graduated a month ago and I've been very busy the past year figuring my life out. This is also my first offense of expiration. I honestly had no idea this was a thing, which seems like a stupid thing to say in hindsight... But I just never even thought about it. My dad didn't know either. I got the ticket around 2:30pm and got my tag renewed around 4pm. What else can I do?

As you said, you are facing jail. Yes you can fight this. But you can't fight this alone. You need to meet with an attorney and fight this if you want to avoid having a criminal record.
