Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
I was issued a camera generated ticket for failing to stop at a red light (west on 50 turning right onto 50/98 in Brooksville, FL). The street has a separate lane for the right turn which is a sweeping curve with a yield sign as you enter 50/98. I was not aware that you had to stop. I thought you stopped if the street was straight and you made a 90 degree turn, not a sweeping curse with a yield sign. What is the Florida law on this type of turn.

The law is that you can slow down if it is reasonable whenever there is a red light. However, if you fly through an intersection at 35, 40 mph per hour, it is unlikely a judge will find it reasonable. You should consider hiring an attorney if you want to fight this but if you pay the $158, at least it won't appear on your record.
