How old do you have to be to inherit?

FACTS: grandmother died 8 years ago; left money to me in her will.

Q. How old must I be to get the money?

A. The legal age in Fla. is 18. If you were a minor when your grandmother's estate was probated, then your inheritance probably was paid to your parents as guardians for you, unless there was a Trust. The amount of money would determine the formality of the type of guardianship. Go to the courthouse and check the probate file to see how much money and to whom it was distributed. Then go from there to whoever is holding it and ask for an accounting.
