Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

my brother and i are co excutors on my dads last will and testament! he is in new york, i am in florida! he told me he was taking care of everything! my dad died april 14th 2008! my brother has not register my dad will or anything, he keeps saying he taking care of things. what is the statute of limitations on this? i now got the last will and testament and i need to register it with the state he died in new york, however he still owns a house in pa.

which my brother is collecting monthly rent! what do i do to get this going in the right direction. he his failing to give me any information! please advise me.. thanks

If your Dad was a NY resident, you need to ask a NY Probate Attorney. If in PA, then a PA Probate Attorney. Florida doesn't have jurisdiction on anything, and therefore its laws do not apply, unless your Dad either was a Florida Resident or owned Florida realty.

Along with Mr. Kaplan's advice you may want to do this ASAP. Otherwise, there may be no assets left in the estate to give to you.
