Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My father was a New York resident and died there in 2005. I was appointed executor and have letters testamentary from NEw York. He had a safe deposit box in FLorida which I want to have opened and the account closed . After sending the paperwork as per the Bank's instruction, they are asking me for letters testamentary from the state of Florida. Is this a reasonable request? How do I comply with this?

yes it is reasonable. you have to file a probate action in the county where the bank is located. seek some legal help to do that.
