Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My mother died in Jacksonville, FL. She was estranged from the rest of her family, having taken up residence with a man (they were not married, at least to my knowledge). My sister and I do not know whether or not she had a will, as the man she lived with would not tell us, and we have not received word about anything. How can we find out if she had a will, and what should we do to claim anything she left to us? The man she was living with will not cooperate with us.

Contact the county clerks office in Jax and ask for the probation office. Ask if a will was filed. If not and you are her only heirs then you should receive anything she held in her name.
