Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My sister recently died in Oviedo, Fl. One of her step children produced an old will from 1998 but my sister told family and friends it was redone about 10yrs later. How can we find out if it was really registered?

Wills do not have to be registered anywhere. It can be filed with the court for safe keeping but is rarely done. If she had a lawyer, you could ask him.

There is no registration or depository. You should check with any attorneys whom she may have dealt with over the years. Check her old banking records to see any check she may have written to an attorney. The most obvious place is in her personal records or in a safe deposit box.
