Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

Please help

I have just filed a claim in Florida for my hand with carpel tunel about 3 weeks ago now the doctors gave me a wrist band to wear for a few days and some medication, now my hand is hurting alot more I am going to schedule another appoitment...If this continues can I sue since my hand will never be the same, I hvae been at my job for almost 6 years andwe have just been notified that in August 2008 we are all going to be laid off, what can I do after I;m laid off who do I go to...

Keep seeing the doctor. If not satisfied with the treatment, ask for a change of doctors (I assume you are seeing a hand surgeon/orthopedic). If you are not seeing an ortho and have not had an EMG test done, make some noise with the ins adjuster. But don't try to do everything yourself. If you get nowhere with your requests, hire a Board Certified Workers' Compensation lawyer to represnt you.
