Legal Question in Disability Law in Georgia

Is Disability mobile?

If I am medically disabled in my current state and receiving Social Security benefits and SSI and I move to another state, will I continue to receive these benefits? Will I need to reapply, will there be an interuption of payments?

Thank you in advance for any information you may give.

Re: Is Disability mobile?

Social Security is a national benefit program. You need to contact your locsl social security office to make sure that your benefit payments are not interrupted by your change of address. If you are receiving any benefits through the state that you live in that assistance will be affected.

The above information is offered as a courtesy and is not given in the course of an attorney-client relationship, nor does it establish one.
