Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

I am living in a home I have been in for over 2 years with a lease purchase agreement, $3000 has already been put down in escrow. I have a closing date on the home for July 29, 2011, only to find out today that the owner filed bankruptcy. How do I find out what my rights are, how do I get the bankruptcy information to find out how she filed and how she listed the home I am in and was suppose to close on?

You need to get a lawyer IMMEDIATELY. Bankruptcy law may allow the seller to rescind the agreement and may put your $3000 in jepoardy. Your rights will depend on both the agreement and also on the bankruptcy.

In some cases you may need to file a motion or adversary proceeding in bankruptcy court. This is complex and you cannot do this without counsel. Time periods to do things in federal court are very short so seek counsel immediately.
