Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

We loaned a lot of money to two developers who later filed bankruptcy(personal and cooperate).

Our debt was classified as secured but was discharged by a judge. Is there any way to get ANY

money from these guys. They have lied but we know they have money.

Hire a bankruptcy attorney. Best of luck.******The above does not establish an attorney-client relationship and is for informational purposes only.*******

If your facts are as you posted, you are asking way too late.

Once a debt is discharged, it can never be collected and you can face immense liability if you violate the discharge by contacting the debtor.

You did learn a valuable lesson. You should have hired a lawyer the moment a bankruptcy was filed. At that time a lawyer could have advised you if you had any chance to collect, and, if so, could have filed appropriate pleadings (note that often in bankruptcy you don't collect).

Is your question better answered on an anonymous message board with zero facts about the cases, the collateral, your debt, or anything ese, or should it be answered by bankruptcy lawyer you retain to review all facts? If a discharge was entered, it means the case is pretty far along and the time to take action may have been months ago. If you want meaningful advice, see a bankruptcy lawyer.
