i want to apply for my gun permit,but about 20 years ago ,i had a domestic mistermeaner,which was not my falut,would that have any affect on getting my permit?

If you want to know if you can get a permit, apply and find out. That is the obvious and easiest way to find out, instead of asking for guesses here. The one red flag from your question is your comment that the conviction was "not my fault." That'll get you nowhere.
