Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

I lived in a apartment til my lease was up and just a little bit after wards. Then I was on maternity leave and couldn't pay my rent any longer my boyfriend couldn't afford everything so I contacted my landlord informed we are moving out due to non being able to pay. Somehow he found out I was working again called my job threaten me To take me to Court. But i haven't heard anything from him since we moved out that was back in Feb. So can he legally sue me for owed rent even after I moved out and told him I couldn't pay?

Why do you think you can move out without paying? Of course he can sue you if there is back rent or damage to the property owed. It is not a threat to tell someone you are going to sue if there is a valid claim. If the landlord gets a judgment then he will be able to garnish your wages depending on what you earn.

You provide no relevant details. When did you enter your lease? When did you move out? Did you renew the lease or did it expire? If it expired and you were a holdover tenant what did the lease say about that? Usually a tenant can give notice (30 days) and terminate a holdover tenancy. But you would still rent from the time you give notice until you moved out plus any damages. It should be equal to 1-2 months rent at most.

This is not really a collection issue but a landlord tenant issue. You might want to try re-posting your question with more details in the proper section.
