L.L.P. acting as debt collector

I recieved a letter from a law firmTrauner, Cohen & Thomas, L.L.P. in Atlanta,GA stating that they are going to take me to court for a old Citibank credit card account that was wriiten off for the amount of $12,085.38

What are my options and can the do me harm?

If the alleged debt was paid or was written off, then you have a possible cause of action against the collector and creditor. Often, what a person thought was written off or negotiated, only verbally, never occurred because the creditor never take such actions. If you have written documentation, you can use it in your case.
