Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

How do I resolve a judgement?

I just found out there is a 5 year old judgement on my credit report. How do I get this resolved? Can a lawyer help to reduce the amount of interest I would have to pay if I dealt with the creditor directly?

Yes

You didn't state whether the judgment on your credit report was legitimate or an error. If you have errors on your credit report, it may be a Fair Credit Reporting issue. Yes, if you hire an attorney, the attorney may possibly negotiate to reduce your debt. You don't have to, but sometimes it's better to have an objective person doing the negotiation. I recommend you contact an attorney to discuss the matter at least on a consultation basis. I would need to know more information.
