if someone bought a gun for you can they take it back even tho its in your name?

Both persons should be mindful that it is a violation of federal law to purchase a firearm for someone else. ATF Form 4473 specifically asks the store purchaser whether the firearm is being purchased by him or her for someone else, and must be completed and signed under penalty of perjury at the time of the application.
