Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Hello,

I have a huge problem. I have been subpoened to court on 2/15/10 for charges against my fiance. Four years ago while he was still drinking, he beat me up, since that time, he's been sober and on the straight and narrow. About 10 months ago, he went and visited her and it infuriated me. I was home drinking and I had taken my xanax, effexor xr and ambien just hoping to calm down and pass out, but I didn't and when he came home, I went nuts, butttttttt I told him to leave and he said no and I called the police. I told them in my drunken rage that we had gotten into it and he broke a picture frame. He left and went to his mother's before the police arrived, and was taken to jail. I tried to call his mother's the next day and found out he was in jail and tried to get it dropped but the state picked it up and now I'm subpoened to court to testify and I know that my statement is inaccurate and I'm afraid to go and I'm afraid that they'll send him to jail. He and I haven't been able to be around each other since last July and I just want to put this behind me. What should I do?

What you should do is get yourself out of this situation, away from him, and get help immediately. Go to a shelter and see how many woman there were so sure that their husband/boyfriend had straightened up. Hint -- all of them. It also appears you have your own issues with alcohol and medication. Get help now. The least of your problems is they send him to jail, and it might be the best thing that can happen to you.
