Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

probation violation for not reporting

My friend's boyfriend was on probation for dui & possession of marijuana. He failed to report to his probation officer for 4 months & a warrant was issued for probation violation. He is being held with out bond & has been moved to Valdosta (State Prison ?-not sure). We have asked his attorney for advise but he seems to be more bothered with my inquiries than willing to advise me. What do we need to do help expedite the judicial process? Pee Wee is a small guy with a meek disposition & slower mental capacity than most. His cell mate is reported to be a 300lb ''threatening thug''. I am afraid for him. His Probation Officer stated she was going to ''leave him in for a while'' & court is set for Feb 2005. Please if there is an alternative method of enforcement or rehabilitation in GA that offer non-threatening offeneders a better means to repent?

Re: probation violation for not reporting

Violation of conditions of probation, give the probation officer almost total control. That said, if there is some abuse, application should be made directly to the trial judge. I would need to know much more about the circumstances than you have shared at this point.
