Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia

Possible Discimination in Workplace

I(employee A) was recectly terminated from a very large restaurant franchise and I feel that I have been discriminated agaist.

I was ternimated because another employee (employee B), recieved a promotion to a management position and we were both residents at the same diversion center.

The superintendent of this diversion center did not want any resident to supervise any other resident from the diversion center, so after it was brought to the superintendent's attention that this employee(employee B), had been promoted, he contacted the General Manager of the restaurant, and told her that since we were both residents at the diversion center that we could not work together as long as she (employee B) was in a management position.

Besides myself and the employee(employee B), that was promoted there two other employees that work in the same establishment, but neither were terminated from their job. One (employee C), was hired on the same day as me, and one (employee D), was already working there when we started. Both (employee C&D), were caucasian females and I am an Afrian-American male. The employee(employee B), that was promoted was also a caucasian female.

Is this discrimination sexually or racially?

Re: Possible Discimination in Workplace

It is not necessarily either. If you are an at-will employee, you may be terminated for any non-discriminatory reason. And you have to show that the reason for the termination was discriminatory. It sounds like they terminated your employment due to a policy regarding residency in certain centers - a non-discriminatory reason on its face.
