Legal Question in Elder Law in Georgia

Sorry, my first question wasn't clear. My mother is in the last stages of Alzheirmer's and is living at home with 24 hour care and hospice twice a day. My father passed away two weeks ago and the day after the funeral, my brother told her he is going to sell her home and belongings and put her into assisted living. She is very upset and it has affected her heart condition. He told me our father gave him POA the last week of his life when he came out of surgery. My brother will not let me see the POA document, nor the "new will." We all promised long ago to our mom and dad to keep them in their home until they passed. Alzheimer's patients need familiar surroundings. Mom has that, and good care as well. Please advise me to protect my mother in the last stages of her life. Thank you.

You leave out the most important detail. Who has the legal authority to handle your mother's affairs. We certainly don't know. A POA form your deceased father is meaningless. No one here has the will. You don't have an issue solved on an Internet forum. The family needs to see an elder law attorney to review all issues for your mothers care. It should have been done long ago. Then you need to cooperate and work together.
