Abandonment of Child
What exactly is Abandonment of child. What does O.C.G.A. 19-10-1 mean? If my exhusband refused to let me see my children how can he he claim abandoment on me. I was ordered by the court to pay 100.00 a week child support but have not been able to. I was employed but was only able to support myself. I was able to talk to the children by telephone. I giving visition but my exhusband would not let me see the children. What can I do?

Abandonment means that you, as a parent, fail to provide sufficient food, clothes or shelter for your child. Whether or not you "abandoned" your child would be a question of fact and you may still be guilty of abandonment even though you are not the custodial parent.
