Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Im trying to do this without a lawyer. I can't afford one. My husband and I separated over a year ago. He moved to another state I don't know where he is! I want a divorce and I called the court house and they said I can do it on my own with out his signature but I needed the correct forms but the couldn't tell me what forms in what order or how to do it. I live in Dallas, GA.

While you can do a divorce pro se, it can be difficult, and if you do anything wrong you may not get divorced. The costs are probably less than you think they are.

I strongly suggest not using forms. (Some are available from various metro Atlanta courts, such as Fulton and Dekalb). A misused form may prevent you getting divorced.

If you do wish to proceed pro se, it may pay to meet with a lawyer and at least have them assist you with drafting paperwork. Call me at 404-768-3509 if I can help).
