Divorced. Ex-husband asked me to co-sign with him on a car loan. He made approx. 5 payments and then fell behind. Returned car to me late one night. I have made payments for 1 year and tried to sell on different car lots. He visits every car lot and states it cannot be sold it is his car. I have tried to trade and he will not sign title. The car is titled in his and my name. How can I trade this car? Can I take to court by what is called a equity access? Any what does that mean? I just want to get rid of the car, as I am paying insurance and monthly payments.

This is not an equity case. You should consult with a local attorney with an eye toward suing your ex in small claims court.

If you are not on the title (or don't have power of attorney to sell), you cannot sell the car. You would have to resolve the issue with your ex-husband.
