Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

My ex fianc� is trying to have my daughter and I evicted. We moved in the house together but my name isn't on the loan. Can I fight the eviction to get more time to find a job and another place to live. How long does it usually take.

He has to give you 60 days notice under Georgia law. After that you have to move and eviction can happen very quickly. Stalling runs the risk that your possessions will be tossed by the sheriff into the streets. In other words, plan a move quickly. You won't get to stay.

As answered in the other forum, do everything you can to find a place to go. Whatever you can do in a month, you can probably do in a week or two. Once an order is entered, things go downhill quickly and it will affect your long term ability to rent.
