Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

I'm trying to find a lawyer who will take a small claims case in Georgia. My daughter has a signed document that states she is owed approximately $3000.00. The party involved is not paying. I would like to persue this matter either on my own or with a lawyer who will take this case with payment based on funds recovered. Not based on an hourly rate.

What can I do?

Thank you!

Karen

A reputable lawyer won't contact you or solicit you from this site, so you need to contact collection lawyers in your area (you didn't even tell us where that is). The reality is that filing a suit, going to court and then trying to collect is hours of time, so you won't find many lawyers to take that on for a $3,000 case with no guarantee the other party even has money. Your daughter can at least go to small claims court herself.

Ethical lawyers won't email you based on an online post, so you need to call lawyers. Realistically, given the number of hours in a best case scenario, few if any lawyers would take a case for the possibility of a small piece of a small amount. That's exactly why Magistrates Court (Small Claims) is set up. File your case pro se using the court's forms.
