Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

A lawn service company hired by a neighbor backed into my brick mailbox. They did not notify me in any way. The homeowner states he does not know who he hired, he used a "referral". He continues to refuse to give me any information. The home is vacant. Is the homeowner responsible for the damages. The replacement cost will be over $1100.

Going after the homeowner under an agency theory may be a stretch, but it may get him to reveal who he used. Also, reporting the damage to police so that they can ask him who he used could be useful. You may also be able to report this to your homeowner's insurance and turn over prosecution of the claim to them.

Robert is absolutely right

Call police, make an accident report and get your home owner's insurer involved

Good luck
